In January 2005, around 8 a.m., a 22 year old woman slipped and fell on a patch of ice on the yellow tactile warning strip at the edge of the subway station platform in Bronx, fracturing her left ankle. Her injuries consisted of a comminuted bimalleolar fracture to her left ankle, which required two orthopedic surgeries.
